HEMSI Donates Ambulance to Paramedics for Children

Non-Profit Organization Will Use the Unit for Humanitarian Mission in Honduras

Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) donated an ambulance unit to Paramedics for Children, an international humanitarian organization serving needs in Honduras through educational and medical programs. The HEMSI ambulance leaves soon for Honduras and provide medical care for patients served by the organization.

Paramedics for Children is in the process of relocating its international headquarters from North Carolina to the City of Madison. In addition to HEMSI's assistance, both the Madison Rotary and Greater Huntsville Rotary Clubs are very active in supporting this organization.

 


Representatives from HEMSI, Paramedics for Children, Madison City Council, and the Rotary Clubs were on hand for the official passing of the ambulance unit title and keys.

HEMSI CEO Jon Howell said, "Today, HEMSI has the opportunity to affect the world through Paramedics for Children. We are so pleased to have the opportunity to donate this unit to the vital work being done to serve the medical needs of people in Honduras."

Paramedics for Children Vice-President Pam Harrison explained, "Having quality equipment like this ambulance from HEMSI is an absolute necessity to continue better life for the people in Honduras. HEMSI's generous donation will save lives."

HEMSI Board of Directors President Stan Chapman added, "We are so glad to extend our reach to the people of Honduras and take quality care to Central America. All of us at HEMSI are pleased to have a small part in such a great work."
