Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. employees and board members welcomed elected leaders and special guests at the grand opening ceremonies for the new HEMSI Madison Station. The new 5,000 square-foot emergency response facility became operational in December and is servicing a current call volume of 250+ calls per month in the northern Madison area.

The new station can house up to 6 vehicles/equipment trailers and has capacity for two full crews -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. HEMSI expects to increase shifts and service to meet growing needs associated with additional medical facilities and the new Madison Hospital currently under construction.

HEMSI CEO Jon Howell said, "This new station in Madison Medical Park gives us permanent roots in Madison and demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest standard of care for this growing community. As needs continue to increase here and elsewhere throughout the county, HEMSI will continue to respond."

Madison Mayor Paul Finley said, "HEMSI is an important part of the City of Madison, and we are thrilled to have this beautiful new station in our medical park. We are grateful for their dedication to our citizens and the high-quality care they provide."

HEMSI Board President Stanley Chapman added, "The members of the board are so pleased to open this new facility here in Madison. After many years of temporary housing for our services here, we are glad to be official residents of the community."
