With lights flashing, HEMSI paramedics arrived in a toy-laden ambulance at the Heart of the Valley YMCA's Downtown Child Care Center.  

Employees of the entire organization donated toys at the recent employee Christmas party for area children as part of its "HEMSI Cares" progam.  HEMSI then partnered with United Way of Madison County to get the toys to local children at their preschool.

There were lots of smiling faces as the children all received gifts with individual names on them, opened their gifts, and played with their toys.  The preschoolers were then treated to a visit inside an ambulance where they asked questions and learned more about emergency care.
