HEMSI continues to fulfill its role of service to the local governments in its service area -- most recently with donations of '01 ambulance units to the Madison County and the City of Madison. 

Both units were retired from the active service HEMSI fleet in late 2008.  The City of Madison Police Department is planning to use its new unit for the city’s Special Response Team.  Madison County will be utilizing its unit for Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team operations.
